Giving Your Good Stuff a Second Life
Not everything in your home is junk. Sometimes you’re clearing out because you’re moving, downsizing, or renovating - and the items you’re removing are perfectly good. Rather than sending them to a landfill, junkMOOvers connects your usable goods with Chicago-area nonprofits and donation centers.
What We Accept for Donation
We assess items on arrival. Generally acceptable for donation:
- Furniture in good structural condition without major damage or stains
- Appliances that are functional or repairable
- Kitchen goods, dishes, and cookware
- Clothing and textiles (bagged)
- Books and media
- Baby and children’s items in good condition (excluding certain car seats)
- Tools in working order
Chicago Donation Partners
We work with donation centers and nonprofits throughout Chicago including:
- Habitat for Humanity ReStores (construction materials, appliances)
- Goodwill and Salvation Army drop-off centers
- Local community organizations and churches
- Furniture donation programs for low-income families
The Process
- Tell us what you have and we’ll confirm if it’s likely accepted for donation
- We pick up on your scheduled day
- We deliver to the most appropriate Chicago-area donation partner
- You can request a donation receipt for tax purposes (issued by the receiving organization)
Pricing
Donation pickup is priced the same as standard junk removal because we still need to provide labor and transportation. The environmental and community benefit is the added value - there’s no extra charge for the donation routing.
- Small donation pickup: from $99
- Larger loads: volume-based
